Which one of these characters had the BEST chemistry with Lucy? I think all of us will agree on that both of them had chemistry with her but one of them has to have a MORE chemistry than the other.

Katherine Fugate : When I came into the series in its sixth season, everyone I talked to associated with the show - both on screen and behind the scenes - felt Xena and Gabrielle were in love/a couple so it was never an issue that was even brought up. As far as Xena and Ares being an item, it appears they had a strong connection and may have been lovers prior to Xena meeting Gabrielle, but it was clear to all those involved that Xena and Gabrielle were a couple by the time I showed up so that's how I proceeded.//When Fates Collide is a story about Xena and Gabrielle meeting, and falling in love, all over again.// The belief on set was X/G were lovers -- but there was always room for other interpretations.//I came to the show in the last season and was certainly told by my employers their vision of the show so that I can write appropriately for it. Meaning, yes, I was explicitly told by the executive producers, the writing staff and the two lead actors that the characters of Xena and Gabrielle evolved from friends to a lover relationship over the course of the series.
