BSG SPOILER WARNING
"Which characters do you like in the series?" There aren't any I don't like. Starbuck is probably my favorite. Baltar and Caprica Six are a great pair, Caprica Six is probably my second favorite. Sharon may be my third favorite. Lucy's character Diana Biers / Number 3 has also become a favorite as she gets more and more interesting all the time. Especially loved Diana meeting the psychic in the last ep and in this ep she was screaming "Liar!" and then she heard crying...wonderful. She keeps accumulating memorable scenes like that such as getting brained with a rock by Six right after she says, "God loves me!" Nice mention of that in the scene where they were getting Baltar to sign, just before Six was rudely excused right after she spoke her own epitaph, "It was necessary." digemup I find it interesting that some people feel his Tigh's wife Ellen knew and made it easier for him. I had remarked to my wife at the time I thought he might have been planning a double-suicide and he was lucky she took the cup and spilled the rest if any was left. But after reading what others felt about her knowing, and considering what she was saying just before...maybe in going out she did try to save him one last time. Some thought she was a cylon, and though I've doubted that I feel if she was one she didn't know it. She certainly loved Tigh though and I think in a true-love way like what Number 3 is seeking and hoping to find in loving baby Hera. The theme of Cylons loving humans and vice-versa is all over the show...and because it is that does now make me suspect Ellen could have been a Cylon and may well be waking up in a tank to her horror I'm sure. If so they've certainly set Tigh up with his hatred of the Cylon's and yet his sobbing over dead Ellen as he proclaimed his love for her. "Do you love me now?" That would be interesting. I wouldn't make a bet she isn't a Cylon now. Love the surreal situation they put Starbuck in with the Cylon trying to seduce her and make her his wife, again a Cylon seeking true love. While in many ways different, and in some ways reversed, I thought that was a tribute to scenes in Blade Runner between Deckard and Racheal. I thought the whole ep rocked and is one of the best sci-fi eps I've ever seen, within the top ten range. The effects with the near ground level free-fall viper deployment and jump leading into the great battle sequence...wow!...imo that ranked with the best that Babylon 5 ever did. Very impressive how they're telling so many stories at the same time, feels more like a movie than a TV show just as with X:WP. Ten years ago I felt X:WP was the best show on TV and now I feel BSG is, and I love having Lucy be in this one too. Sarpedon (Edited to add stuff) |

SPOILER WARNING - BSG
I think it should have reminded me of that, since there was Lucy and an Alti-type in a tent...and even talking about gods and prophecy - about Zeus and his wife/sister Hera, and then Alti getting involved with Xena's baby. But no it didn't as I haven't had Xena on my mind much watching this series for some reason, even in scenes Lucy is in. But at the end of this last ep when Lucy/Diana took the baby in her arms and was walking back to the tent I did recall Xena and baby Eve for a moment, but then when Baltar pointed his gun at her and was going to gun her down from behind that memory scooted right out of my mind. Now that I take a moment to recall that scene...Caprica Six seemed very Callisto-ish in her assuring Baltar Diana wouldn't set off the nuke anymore. Callisto always did seem to know what Xena was going to do. As I do take a moment right now to think of BSG comparing to X:WP I think its funny that the pairing of Baltar and Caprica Six reminds me of Xena and Gabrielle. Aside from the dark hair vs. blonde aspect, Baltar certainly has a lot of guilt from the past to deal with and Six has assumed the role of peacenik like early Gabrielle while also being a kick-butt warrior type like the later Gabrielle, and Baltar's people now revile him as a traitor because they followed him and he led them to all that trouble, a bit like how Xena's people once felt about Xena.
