You'll come upon a photo of Lucy with a flowered dress, holding a magazine that has a picture of two cigarettes sitting on a bench. The two new photos will be the ones after that. I'm on my Asus netbook, wi-fi-ing from a Barnes & Noble bookstore in New York City. I quickly threw together the following thumbnail in Photoshop; the display window @ my MySpace page has the larger images. You should also be able to view them in the Photo gallery there. Heya! Well, for starters, let's get this out of the way for folks new to these pictures... I live in Northern New Jersey, which is west of New York City, across the Hudson River. I go to New York City all the time-I've been doing so for 27 years. The Eugene O Neill Theater, where Lucy was, is located at 230 West 49th Street, between 7th & 8th Avenues, near Times Square. Lucy was there between September 2 and October 19, 1997-I was there quite a few times. At the moment, the exact amount escapes me; if you go to my "Lucy Lawless In Grease" page (accessible from my MySpace site) and scroll down to the photo shoot section, you'll see the photos divided into categories-that would be the number of times I met her-plus a couple of additional times where I didn't shoot photos. I also saw Grease twice. There's a Grease report on that site as well, detailing my experiences. Basically, Lucy was there for over a month and a half, and I knew this was a golden opportunity that would most likely never happen again. I was also going through some very difficult times, personally, and Lucy stopping by was a much-needed distraction-the eye in the hurricane. I think I shot over 100 photos during this period. My camera is a Canon EOS 630, using a 430EZ flash. The shoots themselves were quick; I was almost machine-gunning my camera at Lucy, and I made sure to have fresh batteries for the flash each time. Not all the photos came out, but a large number of them did, which are the pics you see today. I did read somewhere that Lucy would love to return to Broadway. Especially certain wardrobe choices like that colorfully striped sweater that she also wore to Burbank '98... I remember it well. I still can't believe that was 13 years ago though. -wendy

You're famous in the Xenaverse for all the pics of Lucy you got from Grease and the reports. I think you did see her again if I'm not mistaken in 2007 when she was at a convention in New Jersey/New York. I think I read that somewhere. Thanks again. " Wendy-yeah, it's hard to believe, isn't it? Lucy was 29 when those photos were taken; I'm 3 years older than her. Daisy was 9, and XWP was still a new show, only 2 years old. Her horse accident was only the year before. Life has treated Lucy VERY well; she barely seems to have aged at all. And yes-there is a MySpace blog where I discuss my encounters with Lucy & Renee at the 2007 Secaucus New Jersey Xena convention. I asked both of them what they liked least about acting; you can see me ask them these questions on the Jersey Girls DVD, which you can order through Creation.
