I know most of us subbers love the fanfic but sometimes that 'perfect' story is hard to find. I'm making this topic so we can post links to our favorite stories. I don't like Ubers or Conquorors, and the only shipper I read is the shipper series. One of my favourite all time fanfic is Beyond Price, which sadly I can't find a link for anywhere. If anyone knows of one please let me know. Beyond and Forever will stay with you for a long time. Gabrielle is terminally ill and eventually tells Xena and they spend their last few days together. It is superbly written. I have read plenty of fanfic and find that I become a fan of a writer, I'll list a few links here. baermer is a fabulous writer. The "personal scrolls" is outstanding and makes me cry every time I read it. Also excellent is the Pelopennisian war series. paully Adams is another fine author, who characterisation of Gabrielle is a a joy and also gives Gabrielle a past (Sophie series). Other outstanding authors are T Novan, Enginerd, L.Fox and (sorry no links) and Maggie. Hope that helps.

I used to be really into the classic but every since I discovered Linda Crist I've been hooked on Uber. Renegede by Cheyne was my first Uber. It takes place partly in the Old West. A great heartwarming read that has enough suspence and romance to keep you on the edge of your seat for days. www.ralst.com/Renegade1-12.HTM Madame President by TN and Advocate is a look at the first female president. Even better my new laptop has somehow downloaded them (wasn't me guv I promise)and I have my own little slideshow as I have rotating picture thanks to vista. A bit distracting seeing ROC in her lovliness as I am typing up lecture notes but never mind! As for your new stories am looking forward to them. I have tried a couple of ubers and Conquorors but I can't get into them at all. Not even Mayt's and she is another fabulous author. If it's not Xena and Gabrielle in ancient Greece I'm not interested.

The reason is it will take too long as they are in English and I have to translate them in my own language(italian) to understand them well

Today I read fanfic from 'other' fandoms(various tv shows). In the past from the Xenaverse fanfic, I read 1 classic, 1 mel & janice, some eve/varia stories, other than that the fanfic reading was....Uber. From the Uberfanfic, for me there are 2 standouts from the rest of the Uber stories read in general.... My absolute most favorite of all, any genre, is the Uber Redemption, Retribution, Restitution trilogy by SwordNQuill(Susanne Beck) www.ausxip.com/fanfiction/r/redemption.html www.ausxip.com/fanfic9/retribution1.html www.ausxip.com/fanfic13/restitution1.html Actually, these are published novels, but can be downloaded as ebooks or read online at Ausxip. The main characters, Ice(Morgan Steel) and Angel(Tyler Moore) grab your imagination just like Xena and Gabrielle. The supporting cast of characters are superb and add so much to the story. Angel is in prison for killing her husband. Ice is a mafia assassin, but is imprisoned for a murder she did not commit. No, it is not your typical Women in Prison. That is just the beginning. First, it is prison, then Angel is released and Ice escapes, then their adventures on the run. The stories are long, but you just dont want it to end. Sue has a unique writing style that I love. Your mind sees exactly what you are reading. If you read these, you won't be sorry you spent the time.

My first uber-story was from Mavis Applewater "Finding my way" 'Stephanie is a new teacher at a small New England University, her well planned future takes an unexpected detour, when she meets Allison.' But there are many other very talented authors. Larisa is one of my favorites. She's got a fantastic sense of humor and her stories are so romantic. On her site you'll find the sum ups. It would be tooooo long to write them in here. Here are some examples: "The ice princess" "The blues" "Emotional paralysis" And you've got to read Colleen's "At first sight" serie 'At first sight' 'Seeing you again for the first time' 'Blindsided' Read on.

Shes great reading those stories. You can download or just listen to the mp3 files here, www.xenafanfictionpodcast.com/ Here are some of my favorite shows: BEYOND THE RAIN By nut56, its in shows #14, 15 and 16 Its very dark, but definitely very good too. One of the very best, in my opinion. Heres the authors summary to this story, When an ordinary day goes very wrong, Xena struggles with guilt over her inability to protect Gabrielle, and both women find themselves in a harsh jail where justice is not highly regarded. When they manage to escape, Xena tries to support Gabrielle in a decision she disagrees with as the two have to face the consequences of their time spent in the prison. I think its a very well told, intelligent and enthralling Xena and Gabrielle adventure. Besides, I love classic Amazon stories, so Im always very enthusiastic recommending that one.
