Lucy interview with Ariane Kranz Report by Barbara Davies:
> Well, that was rather strange! The balance (and the sound balance) between Lucy's interview and the music was a bit odd IMO. No sooner did
we get into Lucy speaking (mostly in English towards the end - thanks heavens, because my German is crap) than we'd have to wait while another
record was played (and faded out early).
A very European selection of music: this year's Eurovision winner, someone who sounded like Johnny Logan to me (previous Irish Eurovision
winner), the Pet Shop Boys (with Dusty Springfield) etc etc
Lucy talked about Lucretia and Spartacus, of course (forced to speak English because she didn't have the words for it in German), but she
also talked about whether she would like to work in Germany (and in German), and whether she wanted to win the Monte Carlo award (her
response was in a pseudo Hollywood starlet accent <g>) and about old
French women who lounge around on the beach all brown and wrinkled and half naked and not caring.
But this is from memory, so don't quote
me. Maybe someone who speaks German will catch the repeat and do a transcript. <
First transcript by Adi
> Program started by Amazed by Lonestar I think then a song by Ozzie singer Jane Camerford (apologies for incorrect name)who lives in
Germany today then NZ singer Joseph Murray was mentioned he played the character of Neron in Been There Done That episode of Xena.
Lucy doesn't yet have a song hit in Germany Ariane says in the introduction. A summary of Spartacus Blood and Sand follows.
Ariane describes how she met Lucy in Monte Carlo. Can we do it in German Ariane asks. Perhaps what I say in German will be shorter than in
English Lucy responds.
"My name is Lucy Lawless she says in German. I am an actress"
A: Describe your character for whom you were nominated.
Lucy speaks about Lucretia: she is a liar but loves her husband wants to
give him a son but can't and has an affair with Crixus. She is confused
Lucy says,
Ariane: How would You sell me the series?
Lucy: Best hard core series very rewarding to watch. I am here to have a
good time, not to win.
A: Do You have any interest to come to Germany?
L:(Loves Neverending Story) I'd love to work in Germany.
A: Do you get offers from Germany?
L: Not yet what's wrong with you people?
A: Where do you see your future?
L: I wanna be like the French ladies on the beach who don't care just
have a good life.
Not yet known when Spartacus will air in Germany but it will.
Latin Lover Gianna Nannini song towards end of the program.
The interview is going to be repeated. Here is the repeat schedule on AUSXIP.
