Lucy Chat Banner Contest
Attention Lucy Lawless Fans! Design a Lucy Chat banner for December and you could win a Banner of the Year prize at
the end of the year.
December Theme of
the Month:
It's that time of the year again. The 2009 Holiday Season will be starting soon and before we know it, it will be 2010. So
to celebrate the upcoming holiday season in December, our Lucy Chat theme for December will be....
Happy Holidays Lucy
Style!
Entry Rules:
1. Only 2 Lucy Chat banner entries per Talking Xena member per month. Creators of previous Banners of the Month are eligible to enter
again.
2. Banners can be no bigger than 700x250 pixels and no smaller than 500x200 pixels with a file size no larger than 100k bytes.
3. Because of the many different cultures on this board, our banner theme will be Happy Holidays Lucy Style to honor all holidays
celebrated this time of year. In keeping with the theme of the month, any words on the banners related to the holiday season should be something inclusive like
Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings or Happy New Year. In addition, all holiday banner entries must blend with or match our board holiday color
scheme of red, green and gold.
4. Any type of Lucy image can be used as long as the overall banner reflects the holiday season theme. In addition to original Lucy images,
manipulated images can be used however all images must be respectful of Lucy. Like the rules for the Spartacus forum, Lucy Chat
banners cannot contain images showing any naughty bits. If a banner is deemed inappropriate by the TX staff, it will be rejected.
5. Lucy should be the only person pictured in the Lucy Chat banners.
6. The title "Lucy Chat" (without quote marks) must clearly and easily seen somewhere in the banner.
7. For this month's theme, Lucy Chat banners cannot contain images of Lucy in costume from the XWP or HTLJ TV
series.
8. The same banner cannot be entered in more than one Lucy Chat Banner of the Month Contest during the same year.
9. Talking Xena Owner, Administrators, and Moderators are not eligible to enter this contest. Forum hosts and hostesses are welcome to enter.
10. To enter send a PM (Private Message) to Gabsfan with the url where
your banner can be found.
Entry Deadline is Midnight Eastern Time (New York/Board Time) on Thursday Evening, November 19,
2009.
Voting:
1. Once the entry period is over all of the banners will be posted in a new thread and voting will start and last until Midnight EDT on
Sunday evening, November 29.
NEW! Based on member feedback in the TX Member Questionaire, voters will be able to click on the reduced
sized banner entries to be taken to where they can view the banner in its full size.
2. Each entry will be assigned a number and voting will be by number only.
3. Only one vote per TX member will be counted no matter how many TX handle names a member has. New members must have at least 10 TX posts before they are
eligible to post their vote.
4. If there is only one entry submitted for the month, that entry will automatically be the banner of the month and there will be no vote that month.
Banner of the Month Prizes:
The banner earning the most votes will be displayed at the top of the Lucy Chat Forum during December.
Every Lucy Chat Banner of the Month will be automatically entered into the Lucy Chat Banner of the Year Contest in December up to a maximum of 4 entries per
TX member. If the same TX member created more than 4 banners voted Lucy Chat Banner of the Month this year, they get to choose which 4 of their Banner of
the Month banners they want entered into the Banner of the Year Contest. For each Banner of the Month the creator does not choose for a Banner of the Year
entry, the banner(s) created by a different TX member that received 2nd Place that month will be entered into the Banner of the Year Contest in its place.
For example, if Tobias was the creator of 5 banners that were voted Lucy Chat Banner of the Month this year, Tobias would need to choose which 4 out of those 5
banners to be entered into the Lucy Chat Banner of the Year Contest. If Tobias does not choose the banner from November, the banners tied for 2nd Place in
November, created by pmbpro and MHRasmussen, would be automatically entered into the Banner of the Year Contest instead.
Therefore, if a banner is voted into 2nd Place (and possibly 3rd Place if the same TX member created the 1st and 2nd Place banners), it may still have a chance
to be entered into the Lucy Chat Banner of the Year Contest.
Lucy Chat Banner of the Year Contest:
1. In December, TX members will vote for the best Lucy Chat banner of the year from among the TX member created
banners that received top votes in the Banner of the Month contests during the year.
2. The creator of the 1st Place (Gold), 2nd Place (Silver) and 3rd
Place (Bronze) banners will receive a special Best Lucy Chat Banner award avatar designed by our
talented PMBPRO to be displayed under their handle name along with any personal avatar they may already have. In addition, award recipients will be granted
entrance into the TX Prize Vault to pick their Lucy Chat Banner of the Year prize from the Lucy, Renee & XWP
treasures inside.
3. Banner of the Year award recipients must supply their name and full mailing/shipping address so that their prize can be sent to them.
