Graphic artists of the Xenaverse
wanted! Design a Holiday Banner for Talking Xena and you could see your art displayed at the top of TX and earn a TX
Award.

2. Banner and File Size: Banner can be no bigger than 700x250 pixels and no smaller than 600x200 pixels with a file size no larger than 200kb.
3. Banner Theme and Colors: Because of the many different cultures on this

green, red and gold. All holiday banner entries must reflect this theme and match or blend with that color scheme.
4. Banner Content: Xena and Gabrielle must be included in
the banner. Other characters can be added at your discretion. An excellent example of a TX Winter Solstice banner is last year's winning banner created
by TaikosRealm:
5. Banner Logo and Text: Like our current TX banner, all TX Holiday Banners must include the official gold AUSXIP
logoand the words,
"Talking Xena" (without the quote marks). The AUSXIP logo and the words Talking Xena must be clearly and
easily seen on the banner. Contestants must PM Gabsfan for the correct logo artwork to be used in all banner entries. Contestants can choose the font and
color for the words Talking Xena to fit their design.

7. To enter, send a PM (Private Message) to Gabsfan with the url where your banner can be found.
Entry deadline is Tuesday Evening,
November 17, 2009 at Midnight ET (Board Time/New York Time)
Voting:
1. Once the entry period is over all of the banners will be posted in a new thread and voting will start
and last until Midnight ET on Sunday evening, November 29.
2. Each entry will be assigned a number and voting will be by number only.
3. Only one vote per TX member will be counted. New members must have at least 10 TX posts (not counting
the voting post) before they are eligible to post their vote.
Prizes:
The banner receiving the most votes will be
displayed at the top of Talking Xena for the entire month of December.
Also, the creators of the top 3 banners will receive a special Gold, Silver or Bronze TX Award Avatar designed by a talented TX Staff member to appear
under their title in addition to any personal avatar photo they may already have. Please note that if the same member creates more than one banner voted
into the top 3, they will receive only the highest award they earned and the 4th Place banner will move up to 3rd Place. In other words, if a contestant
enters two banners, they can only receive one award but they will have 2 chances to receive an award.
Winter Solstice Information:
For a list of links to information about Winter Solstice, you can go to: http://www.moonchildren.c...wintersolstice/index.html. Another interesting site about celebrating the Winter Solstice is: http://www.moonchildren.com/holidays/wintersolstice/index.html .
Interesting fact about celebrating Winter Solstice in Ancient Greece found on several sites but quoted below from http://www.religioustolerance.org/winter_solstice.htm :
ANCIENT GREECE: The winter solstice ritual was called Lenaea, the Festival of the Wild Women. In very ancient times, a man representing the harvest god Dionysos was torn to pieces and eaten by a gang of women on this day. Later in the ritual, Dionysos would be reborn as a baby. By classical times, the human sacrifice had been replaced by the killing of a goat. The women's role had changed to that of funeral mourners and observers of the birth.
If you have questions about anything posted above about the contest, please don't hesitate to ask.
Don't forget - You must PM Gabsfan
for the AUSXIP logo artwork to be used and
the Deadline to submit your banner entries to Gabsfan is

!!!

- meaning that I don't quite understand, in what way the banner can/should
reflect it other than by the name and a "seasonal" makeover??? Or are we not talking about a X-Masy-Xena-Vision???

, thinking: I know this...and
I'm already playing around with some images...So look out for my first entry somewhat between now and the 17. november
