Looking at it, of course I think Xena would win, as she has fought longer, and has more experience and less guilt around killing humans than Buffy does, plus her ability to switch styles many times within one fight--she's very unpredictable and knows many moves others have no idea how to counter. But here's the thing--for Xena and Buffy to really go up against each other, one of them would have to be evil--they wouldn't be truly fighting otherwise. We've seen Xena evil--really impressive. We haven't seen Buffy evil, but we really don't know the extent of her powers because she doesn't totally examine their dark side. Yeah, Xena is amazing, but she doesn't officially have any special powers, whereas Buffy officially has super-powers. It's totally possible that with Buffy in touch with her dark side, she could totally kick Xena's a$$. Buffy's only a decent fighter, even with her superpowers, plus she's impulsive, not too bright, and emotionally weak. Check out this article.

And also how much Buffy's powers differentiate from what's shown on the show... I mean, you scarecly see her practive with a sword, at least compared to Xena, and there's the fact that slaying a vampire, grr-argh-Master-Vampire or not, wouldn't usualy require much skill beyond either being fast or strong, then staking it in the heart. Whereas even the most two-bit raider-type-person that Xena or Gabrielle fights so very frequently at least has a sword to wave around... Still, with that Scythe of Buffy's, and the motivations thing... Eh, I say it depends. A better question would be: Who would win, Xena or Glorificus? (assuming Xena can kill gods, of course.) (I was gonna say Dark Willow, but that wasn't elaborated upon enough to ask) ______________ P.S. I haven't seen Buffy for so long and I'm not that a loyal fan so I don't know what super powers she has. If it refers to her amazing strength and speed, Xena has that too. (I really think anyone can drive a wooden stake into a vampire's heart and kill it) So she doesn't have the speed of Superman but she can be fairly quick with her somersaults and she has her chakram (seriously she can work that thing like she has it on mind control. Have you ever see it spinning in midair?). Xena is beefier than Buffy is and she doesn't need to rely on other people to help her win a battle. To me, the only reason Buffy was the one fighting is because she's the Chosen One, the strategy and magic came mainly for her friends. Let's put Buffy in the situation where Xena was in, in "One Against An Army". Yeah I think Buffy will be flung through from one side of the hut to another like a fly. Plus, Xena knows her pinch and her acupunctual points pretty well. If Buffy's neck was anywhere near Xena's fingers, she would be dead in 30 seconds. :P And as for dark side--sure Buffy (or Faith) can have a dark side, but when it comes to killing, have you seen Xena on her rampage? I won't want to be in her way. Not to say that Buffy don't have the capability to embrace her dark side but I don't know, one thing Buffy doesn't have is Xena's insanity. Now if it's a battle between Xena and Dark Willow, that I'll want to see. I completely agree. That would be one interesting fight, even if they both lacked certain temporary powers (time messing with thing vs that thing Lao Ma taught Xena, etc). Re:Dark Willow (Willow) Dang it, they're both among my very favorite characters ever! Reading Willow/Tara focus fanfiction was what got me even super-duct-taped-ed-er to XWP! (see: long slightly confounding story thing) I don't know who I'd want to win. Circumstances, I guess. Though Dark Willow as seen directly just after Seeing Red could probably top Alti, it's just not elaborated enough beyond that, in my mind, to properly outline Willow's powers at that juncture (though being able to be the conduit to enough power to incinerate the world might be telling). They do a better job on Xena, but it's all still very circumstantial in my mind, who would win... I think they made a similar comment on Buffy's intelligence on the show... Snigs.
