I loved this -Jack and Ianto are my new obsession - but was so upset about Ianto, it made the ending suck.

S P O I L E R S
I know, It was so sad when Ianto died, not just that, but dying in Jack's arms. <sniffle> I honestly thought something was going to happen between Jack and Gwen, giving the enormous sexual chemistry between the two in the earlier series, but I thought Jack and Ianto were a really cute couple. omg though, Jack having to sacrifice his own grandson. Flipping heck, I'm not surprised he decided to go after all that. I think Jack's going off to find the Doctor. That would be cool if he turned up in the new series. It was said in the early days that Torchwood operatives have short lifespans, but blimey, there's only Gwen left out of the 5 members now. I wonder if they get hazard pay?

SPOILERS (yet again
)
I think I'm so used to watching Xena and Hercules where death is temporary, I was so sure Ianto was going to come back. I actually hadn't seen the previous two series (can't wait to get hold of them now though!), although I had read that a lot of the main characters died. But still, I wasn't expecting it. To be honest, I didn't mind that Jack sacrificed his grandson. He didn't really have much of a choice. He made the same decision that the politicians made - sacrifice the smaller number for the good of the majority - but he was prepared to do what no one else was and be the one to make a sacrifice that affected him personally. And he wasn't trying to appear the good guy by deceiving everyone else. And plus... I didn't really care about the kid. I cared about Ianto. And now I want him to be brought back in another series.
