Just watched the movie, and i have to say that going in I was cautiously optimistic about it. I'm sure opinions will vary, but for me, I was much happier
with the movie than I expected to be.
First off, Renee looked great and had a ton of on screen time. But more than that, I really enjoyed the story and especially the dynamic between her and Tim DeKay. They both did a great job in the film, and for me, that back story and interaction between them added another layer to the movie than just being the usual typical Sci-Fi Channel flick. Whereas 'AA' was an awful, shallow story with alot of bad acting(not ROC of course) 'MA' had a much more entertaining storyline and much better acting all around. And I'm sure the director needs a bit of the credit as well.
So for me this film was a success in my mind for Renee. Even today Renee has to laugh at how 'AA' turned out; but I think she and everyone involved has a right to be extremely proud of this film. Yes, it still had it's cheesy sci-fi elements; but at least there was some heart to the story and in the end I found myself really caring about what happened to the characters. And in the end that means they did something right. Unlike AA, I'll definately be picking this one up when it comes out on DVD.
So good on ya Renee(and Tim DeKay) for a job well done.
