a definite CRINGE worthy moment for me was seeing callisto consistently get fooled with the whole rock trick thing. they really needed to think of something
else to get rid of her. the first two times it was passable but that time xena tripped her and she was like AHHHH and huddled up while rocks trampled her
really pissed me off.

oh and also the whole gabchak with gabrielle...much as i enjoy gabby being chakramed to death seeing xena spare ares the same kind of treatment when he was
attempting to kill livia too really disturbed me.

Basically I don't like any scenes that make Xena look ridiculous, like the wrestling scene. There was also the episode in which she lost her mind,
can't remember the name, but in one scene she walked into a camp waving her arms like a raving lunatic. Watched that ep with a friend, so embarrassing ...
I bet the actors had a blast filming those scenes, but it doesn't "suit" the characters. |

She said they just decided to go a little crazy, then afterwords (I'm assuming after it aired) she got into trouble for doing it. That the producers were NOT happy about it. Oops!
If there is something in this life that you want to do, grab hold of the reins and take yourself for a ride, because if you don't you may miss out on some of the best experiences life has to offer! |

Haha that's quite funny. I have to admit the "thighs of doom" always makes me chuckle!! But the other Amazon ep from season 5, can't remember
what it's called because it's soooo bad, is one of the worst ever! x

Definitely cringeworthy for me were the entire episodes of Lifeblood, For Whom The Bell Tolls, and Keys To The Kingdom. Lifeblood especially was so bad,
it's hard to believe that the same show that produced Ides of March and many other fabulous episodes and moments could put out something this horrendous!

Have to second Rocfan about what is said about Lifeblood. It is unbelievably bad and certainly if I had watched that before becoming a fan I'd never have
become one. Don't mind FHTBT though.

The first thing that pops into my head is Married with Fishsticks...wow, the kids IMO are so annoying. I didn't like the sets either, it looked like crayola crayons had thrown up all over the place. Another is If the Shoe Fits where it's basically a Cinderella story...it's funny in some parts (like toothless Gabrielle haha) but still wasn't a fan of it. Oh, and Sacrifice 1 and 2...now, I liked the episodes, but I hated when Gabby went in the pit. I haven't been able to bring myself to watch those episodes in probably 8 years...does that make me weird? haha. |

Hmmm, oddly, most of things mentioned so far don't bother me much, even the Gab drag and Xena hung upside down. I thought that scene was awesome. Although,
when I found out that Lucy was actually crying during it, well, I was impressed with her even more. Anyway, what I really though was rather over the top was,
as many thought, the wrestling scene in Kindred Spirits was a bit much, but even that, was kinda funny, mean the whole "thighs of Doom"
thing and all.
I also agree that the Nutter Xena scene in The Furies where she is throwing her arms about and all. Kinda strange, but, again, it has grown on me, and I have come to like it. I am not doing so well here, am I? As a matter of fact, I loved most of the scenes that people mentioned they did not like. So, maybe there is something wrong with me. I guess I really can't come up with something that I really don't like. I guess all the things mentioned here so far are strange, and some out of character, but, I guess I have just chalked it up to, that is how the series was once and a while. Over the top and strange. xX Charis.xX ~ The

Only two scenes came to my mind now, as worst Xena`s moment. The wrestling scene and that pie fight. I don`t like within living memory pie fights in others
movies too, pity of food, hehe
.
Interesting fact is how one bad scene can destroy experience of whole episode. I think that wrestling was the worst scene in Xena ever. I thought long time the episoda Kindred Spirit was sooo bad because of this scene. I forgot of everything else. After a couple years was this epi aired in TV again and I`d discover that is quite nice episoda and I like it now, except that fight. And it does work contrary too. One good scene can make good experience of episode. I like that scene with horses in Lifeblood. It`s great music there. I like those flashbacks from another movie, so I don`t think this episode was so bad. I can`t think more moments now, but I don`t like Titans, funny I like Prometheuus. And I don`t like when Xena doesn`t behave like herself too or doesn`t show up in whole episode like The Key ...

The fight between Tara and Gabrielle in Forgiven. Tara is one character I wish they never introduced to the show. |

The worst.... Gabrielle just lost her soul mate, her whole life, her reason for being.... And she's standing on a boat talking to herself like a nutter and
smiling. Ugh, I can't stand it.

Oh well since this has been bumped, I'll throw in a few. Need I even mention the end of FIN? Didn't think so... take that as given.
I'm actually not a person who hates the gabdrag, I could definitely have lived without the gabchak... and one really awkward, stilted thing for me was actually the apology for the gabchak in Coming Home... it just seemed awkward and out of place imo. No offense to Missy because most of that ep was excellent, but it just felt to me like she was so desperate for an apology to be in there somewhere she had to force it in where it didn't fit. That's not one of my top 3 though, just a comment... One of the most cringe-worthy moments for me was actually a directorial decision. I know Michael Hurst loves his Shakespeare but omg the whole "blood will have blood", "I want vengeance" thunder and lightning bit near the start of Who's Gurkhan was so over the top it was painful. The dialogue was really bad, especially the "now I kill him" line... it would have been better as something like "and I will kill him". I loved most of the rest of the episode. Bad acting prize has to go to the girl in Kindred Spirits who wanted to have Joxer's baby. I have to fast forward most of that episode to get to the Xena and Gabrielle bits... I can't stand watching the rest. The entirety of The Play's The Thing... it's an ep I just can't watch... it's a total cringe-fest. Other comments: I'm with sausage dog re Tara... doesn't matter to me if she's trying to be good or bad, she's annoying! And for the people who don't like Key To The Kingdom... LOL I can't even remember that episode, I tried to watch it when I went all the way through Xena a little while ago and I got as far as the "Meg, Joxer and Autolycus's school of ham acting" fake fight scene right at the start and I had to skip to the next episode. MWF... I love the scenes at the dock between Aphrodite and Discord at both beginning and end... the rest was a waste and I hate that they made Joxer SO stupid in the opening scene when he brought "baby food"... There were times in the series I really liked Joxer, when he was a bit of a bumbler but with a good heart like trying to take Xena and Gabrielle's bodies home in Fallen Angel, and standing up to what he thought was Callisto to save Argo in Intimate Stranger... but I hated the moments when they took it too far and made him act like a complete arse. That was way more than three... sorry! |

To add to my previous answer:
The moment that I felt the worst--the most gut-wrenching of the series--was the funeral scene at the end of Maternal Instincts. As that scene unfolded, I realized that there was no dramatically realistic way for the writers to get their characters out of the morbid corners they'd been shoved (that is to say, the deaths of Solan and Hope would shadow their relationship for the forseeable future, unless some fabulous and at best faintly ridiculous deus ex machina intervened). When MI ended, I turned off the sound and sat staring at the screen for a good quarter-hour, dumbfounded and depressed. Truly, as was said at the Nutforum, MI was "the day the music died" for X:WP. Forgiven, coming bizarrely after OAAA, told me that TPTB really didn't give a flying fig about the X/G relationship, certainly not in terms of making Xena and Gabrielle relatively equal partners. Forget Me Not was the episode that brought me to the brink of dropping the show entirely. It was disturbing enough to learn that Gabrielle betrayed Xena in Chin out of spiteful jealousy; even worse was my realization that Gabrielle had essentially spoken the truth about Xena's lack of appreciation for her. Finally, when Gabrielle threw away her staff in The Way, the last flickering flame of hope that the show would return to even an approximation of the pre-Rift format was completely extinguished. Wow, never saw this thread for some reason. The bump is appreciated.
Number One. Gabrielle's pregnancy from Dahok in season three. I forget the episode name. Anyway, just about everything else that one dislikes about the show stems from this one incident. For instance: Gabrielle foolishly denying that her baby is evil begins to turn her and Xena against each other. Dahok, later on, killed Xena's son, thus widening the rift. Etc. etc. Number Two. Xena deciding to go to Chin (the Debt) was another moment. It bothered me on several levels. First: she's not going to blow of Gabby like that. Second: Gabrielle would not have given up that easily. She's stubborn. She would have gone with Xena. Third: if I remember my history/geography, it was not that easy to just hop a boat to china. Did Greece and china trade at that time? And the trip was at least six months: no canal yet: they'd have to sail the long way around Africa! And that was not an easy voyage. Xena spent a year of her life, round trip! And that would mean that Gabby was stitting in Chin waiting for Xena for sixth months. Did she sleep in his bed every day until Xena finally showed? How did Xena know where his bed was, anyway? Number Three: Naw, I think Number one & two covers it
Meanwhile, at the dance party

Ugh, I can't stand it.I'll second that you can see Gabrielle's whole short life stretching out in front of her insanity, depression, drink, and loneliness. I think her happy smile is just to hide the real pain underneath, god FIN is just so damn depressing. I can't really pick thee because to me there are six that really stand out. 1. Xena staying dead in FIN 2. Virgil drooling over Xena WG (Who looks like his mother) 3. The Gabchak (There was absolutely no reason for the writers to do it, Xena and Gabrielle had gone past their violent stages in the rift) 4. Virgil/Gabrielle kissing in HOD (I wanted to hit the writer who wrote that with a club.) 5. Gabrielle tossing away her staff and having her hair cut short (The whole peace quest thing) 6. The pie fight in PL (I remember thinking WTF am I watching Xena or did I just enter the twilight zone?)
