I was told you also have to pay $50 for each night you stay. And $120 for something else but I forgot what that was for. But I was so happy to get the room for
$112 a night.

I would talk to them about that. They shouldn't be including other fees. It should be the hotel room night fee and the taxes, that's it. I booked
through the website and this is how it came out. Last year was the same way. Just the room fee and taxes.

I'd definitely talk to them and have them clarify. The only extra fee I've ever had for a hotel room was for internet access which is usually between
$9 and $15.

Thanks for the help. I will call them back on Monday to double check.

I bought the Gold tickets half an hour ago, but I did not receive any confirm yet with my seat number. Is it normal? How long does it take usually to have the
email?

I called this afternoon and booked my room for the 2010 con.
The guy I talked to said the Xena con rate is $99/night! The convention page at Creation says
$112. Now the big thing is going to be finding affordable airline tickets. I checked tonight and the cheapest I could find from Chicago to LA is still over $400 round trip. Yikes! That's a lot for me. I can't imagine what it would be to come across the pond. What stinks is that if I don't book now,
the price will only be higher in a month or two if I look again. Anybody got some free miles they want to give away??

So I just called and asked about the price and I guess it depends on how many people will be in your room, they had booked me for having 3 people but since
I'm really alone they changed my reservation to $99. I'm so glad you mentioned this Horseredhead because otherwise I wouldn't have checked.

So the more people in the room, the more expensive? So if it's single, it's $99 and if it's 3 people (which I have down for me because I'm
expecting 3) it'll be the regular $112?
I still have to call them about changing the rate to $112. When I booked back in May, it was $127. Since the change, I've got to get it updated.

Oh I did not know that. Cindy booked the room for 3 people, me included.

Hi Aurora, it was $127 for three so you may be out of luck getting it changed. I'm assuming the $112 must be for two people. The $127 was the price for the convention rate back when I booked it in May. The website didn't list that rate as specific to any number of people in a room. When I booked online, that was the rate of the room regardless of number of guests. Then they changed that rate to $112 a couple weeks ago (for whatever reason--I had checked Creation's site one day and noticed it was lower than what it had been previously). This weekend, I went online to the Marriott website and was able to edit my reservation under the new $112 rate for the convention and it was changed. I know at least one other person who called to get it changed to the listed convention rate. It's confusing. But I'm getting $112 now so I'm happy.

Horseredhead wrote:If you wait long enough, Southwest Airlines is starting service out of Milwaukee General Mitchell airport (40 or so miles north of Chicago. Straight shot up 41). Mitchell is less congested and easier to get around in. Parking for one week is only $65 (as opposed to the triple to even quadruple digit ammount at O'hare or Midway)! Southwest is usually reasonable if you don't mind being "cramped". At least you get great service, friendly/fun staff, and the choice of any seat you want. |

Horseredhead wrote:I know that you more than likly would want to get there same day but taking Amtrak is cheaper and it only takes 2 days. That's what I'm doing and leaving from Washington, DC it's only $350 roundtrip. And Chicago is where I transfer for my train to LA so it would be slightly cheaper. Hope this was helpful.
