I think , the love they had for each other was equal And while, i do agree with ez that gabs gave up more for the relationship..It's true xena gave up her
live but ,imho opinion it wasn't done unselfishly or because her love was stronger..She did cuz she wanted something she could get in life ..Atonement and
redemption..And dying was the only way she could get it..Not even gabs love could make her for get..

I don't think love is something you can measure or pit one against the other. To me they loved each other equally and only gave up as much as it took to
keep that love but when you love someone like that you're really not giving up anything.

xena always do the same.
If gabby wanted to die, xena never let her die. come back to watch: legacy or one against an army. Gabrielle!!!! WHY DID YOU PAY ATTENTION ON XENAS WORDS?????????? TROW THE ASHES!!!, don't listen to her!!! (for once) The most important thing is: they always are able to sacrifice for each other. it's about love, man!!!! the subtext is really there!! hehehe |

I believe that Gabrielle loved Xena more, and that she loved her more selflessly, though I agree that Xena *needed* Gabrielle more than Gabrielle needed her.
I think the basic reason I believe Gabrielle loved Xena more was that Xena was her Way, any path was okay as long as it was with Xena, that Xena became the most important thing in and focus of Gabrielle's life. Whereas Xena was certainly very focused on Gabrielle, and her way was about trying to be like Gabrielle, but she was also obsessed with her past deeds and her present suffering for them, so much so that they were as important to her as Gabrielle. She left Gabrielle more than once to go off to die for her past deeds, showing that she was ready to sacrifice being with her True Love in order to satisfy her guilt or whatever she was doing. FIN is an example of this, but it's only one example and in the last ep, so not what I'd base my feelings on. Gabrielle had tried to stop her from leaving her so many times before that in FIN realized it was inevitable and went along with Xena's wishes. Or perhaps Xena loved Gabrielle more while Gabrielle was more *in love* with Xena. Uber Xe

Think Gabrielle love was stronger she gave up her life and family for Xena. Xena struggled with her dark side and Ares but her love for Gabrielle was the most
important.

I would have to agree with you, EZ. It is harder to let someone go. It's a selfless love... where as what Xena did to Gabrielle in was more a selfish love.
It's kind of like the same thing people go through who have loved ones who are terminally ill. The ill patient may want to go, be done with the pain, while
their loved one wants them to live... but when they do finally let them go it's the hardest thing to do. And you could see the agony in Gabrielle's
eyes when they talk during the sunset. So, who's love is stronger? I think they both were. But as far as who's character was stronger, it's
Gabrielle. She was able to go on. Even knowing it would be alone... well, with Xena's Ghost to follow her...

Uber Xe, WOW! What a brilliant thought! Maybe Gabrielle was more in love with Xena, and Xena loved Gabrielle more. deep!
