If this sounds like a nice idea, should i take her out for a movie or for a nice dinner? should there be anything else to the gift?

As far as adding anything else I sure don't think you need to other than maybe a nice mushy card. I'm sure your mother will be thrilled.

I say stick with the dinner instead of a movie, and get her some small gift that she can keep as a memory of the day, some inexpensive jewelry or something (unless you've got lots of money and then I say an expensive piece of jewelry!) She would tell what she wanted but, she would just end up having me take it back to the store..Also, my mom is not a young gal and there's not much unfortunately f or someone her age..
