My favorite subtexter fanfiction writer has a new story
up, FIGHTING THE EFFECTS.
I read it during my vacation trip to London for the convention. I spent the days before the convention sightseeing with my friends, and at the nights it kept me up really late. Sometimes until 02:00am.
Not that I didn't need the sleep, but I
couldn't put the story aside. It's just THAT good! I think the author does what she's best at in this story, and I'd place it in a high place
of my favorite Xena fan fics' list.
I'd recommend reading the authors' summary and advice for the readers before starting it, though. Personally, I found some of the content of this story
pretty emotionally strong but, as always, very tastefully and well written. I think there's a particular sequence that could have turned out kind of gruesome if it was
written by a less skilled bard, but one of the author's best writing qualities is that she focuses more on the characters and their reactions to what's
happening to them and around them than in the details of the action itself. I think it worked very well, just like the rest of the story.
By the way, I really like her characterization of Xena's mother, and I think she did it great in this story. ![]()
Anyway, to those that still are into good
classic Xena fan fiction as much as I am, I enthusiastically recommend nut56's FIGHTING THE EFFECTS, and hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

I hadn't seen your post before, but
I'm glad to hear you liked it too.
