Thats cool Hummer, I had a feeling it was something either Crowe said or was misinterpreted. Unfortunately I have some friends who love League, so I am quite often privy to this kind of info.

I do think Crowe does, on occasion, go to training sessions though...

But hey, sports are something that I don't usually get beyond the surface.

Crowe isn't the coach for the Rabbitohs... Jason Taylor is. And there are a lot of reasons why the Rabbitohs dont do well in the league, and that is mainly because their team was ressurected with new and relatively inexperienced players - and they are still playing quite badly even now that they are getting better players in. They've never really played that well, but last season they didnt get the spoon if I remember correctly - so not last place. I think that went to my team. Ack....

Honestly, I enjoy slasher films, bad horror and B Grade Sci-Fi. I can happily switch my brain off and enjoy with childlike glee the violence and gore... so, for me personally, I would be unhappy if movies like that stopped existing. Those movies, the acting is bad, directing is formulatic as is th writing. There is nothing redeemable about them as an example of fantastic film-making or...

When Legends of the Fall, Driving Miss Daisy, Out of Africa and even Forrest Gump was filmed, the dollar wasn't as inflated, therefore they wouldn't have cost as muc to make. Studios weren't giving the big budgets and none of the have the SFX that Spiderman 3 does. No one pretends any of the spiderman movies are indicitive of fantastic film making - but they are what they are - as as much as you rebel against it they are cult classics. Hell, Plan 9 from Outer Space is a cult...

Can I disagree that Sofia Coppela is a great director? She is actually pretty average, and while Lost in Translation is a fantastic film, I find that's really because of the strength of the script.

Not all film makers go for the dramatic narrative, or comedy etc. Often when these stats are taken they ignore documentaries and experiemental shorts (..)
